The Western Massachusetts Appaloosa Association (WMAA) has been a regional club, holding a charter from the ApHC since the 1960s, with members throughout the New England area. Our members are equestrians of many breed affiliations, but our primary goal is to support and promote the Appaloosa horse.
WMAA sponsors award programs in which members of any age, riding ability or interests can participate. Each year, we host three open shows, three hunter shows, a regional show and an awards banquet. We currently offer High Point Year End Awards for our Regional Circuit, Open Circuit and Trail Ride Circuit. Our Regional Circuit is for members who compete at Regional (ApHC approved) shows. The Open Circuit allows members to accrue points at our open shows. Our Open Circuit even includes non-registered Appaloosas and horses of other breeds. The Trail Ride Circuit, which is restricted to Appaloosas, bases its year end awards on mileage ridden at endurance, competitive, pleasure rides or hunter paces. The Trail Ride Circuit allows members to earn mileage at any ride, regardless of location, provided the trail ride is not restricted. Members may compete in as many circuits as they choose.
WMAA is a friendly club, offering something for everyone. Won't you join us?
